Ultimate Ears buys Rivet and gives consumers Rock Star sound.

Ultimate Ears, industry-leading producer of in-ear custom monitors for professional musicians and provider of premium earpieces for the consumer market, formally announced the acquisition of the Rivet brand and appointment of Affinity Electronics as its distributor. Affinity, with national relationships, will offer the Ultimate Ears’ Metro.fi product line to their consumer electronics and wireless customers.

Ultimate Ears’ Metro.fi product line boasts high definition sound using a single diaphragm speaker to capture the full spectrum of sound and provides an exceptional listening experience while maintaining an affordable price point. Users have “all-access” to amplify MP3 players, mobile phones, portable DVD players and other applications with headsets that combine both stereo and mobile phone capabilities.

“As the market for wireless products expands to include convergent devices and more music applications, customers will be demanding more accessory items to enhance their overall user experiences,” said Raleigh Wilson, president of UE Mobile, a division of Ultimate Ears. “This distribution agreement leverages both Ultimate Ears’ ability to create a powerful listening experience and Affinity’s expertise in providing versatile, world-class products to all segments of the wireless community.”

Ultimate Ears recently introduced new additions to its professional consumer Super.fi line, including Super.fi 4, which uses the proprietary balanced armature speaker for a full spectrum audio experience. Enhancements also include redesigned versatile tapered ear tips allowing a snug and comfortable fit for all ear sizes; a durable carrying case and sound level attenuator are included as well.

Affinity offers the complete line of Super.fi products, high-end consumer universal fit earphones based on the same technology and sound signatures used in Ultimate Ears’ professional in-ear-monitors.
